Ten Songs in Which Taylor Swift Cries:

Teardrops on My Guitar

“He’s the reason for the teardrops on my guitar”

Love Story

“Cryin’ on the staircase, beggin’ you please don’t go.” Desperation, the most attractive of the flirtation techniques.
Mine

“I ran out cryin’ and you followed me out into the street”
Back to December

“The first time you ever saw me cry.” Call me crazy, but at this point it doesn’t really seem like a special occasion.
Fifteen

“We both cried.” It’s contagious!
Should’ve Said No

“You can see that I’ve been cryin’, and you know all the right things to say.”
Tim McGraw

“September saw a month of tears.” A whole MONTH of crying.
Dear John

“The girl in the dress cried the whole way home.” Like a little piggy.
The Best Day

“I come home crying and you hold me tight and grab the keys” At this point I think I’d be more alarmed if she were laughing.
The Other Side of the Door

“And I broke down crying, was she worth this mess?”

Some further information:

  • Taylor Swift actually has more than ten songs that include her crying (and more still that feature other people crying or on the verge of tears.) This is only a sample.
  • Obviously I wouldn’t know this unless I enjoyed her music and had bothered to learn the lyrics to many of her songs.
  • She also enjoys writing about people standing in the pouring rain, often kissing.
  • Maybe I’m Mean, but that’s just The Way I Loved You, Taylor.
  • It’s kind of cool that she is comfortable being so deeply uncool in public.
